2026/08/11 Sailesh has presented his research at CAST workshop!

2026/07/20 Polarization camera to image the chiral crystals! ​ Rixi has investigated the polarization camera used for imaging chiral crystals! ​ He tested the set up with a standard linear polarizer, by rotating it, the camera picks up the intensity varying with the rotation angle of the filter.

2025/11/04 Optical spectroscopy system is setup and online! We have established a laser lab with optical spectroscopy system to support the latest NSF project. With this set up, we will be able to correlate the circular dichroism (selective absorption to circularly polarized light) with the local structure of the chiral perovskite materials. ​ Let's do some laser work!

2025/11/01 We have attended 132nd Topical Symposium of the New York State Section of the American Physical Society (NYSS APS 2025) hosted by UB Physics Department. This workshop is about "Quantum Material and Phenomena", where we have learned a lot about quantum information science. ​

2025/09/01 New Funding! Nie group is awarded with a NSF-DMR funding investigating the exciton dynamics in chiral hetero-structures
